Bob Mackie. Cher. Wow.
For anyone working in the Theatrical Costume Industry, these two icons of fashion are a massive source of inspiration. So, imagine the excitement of our Company Director when he had the pleasure of spending an evening with each of them in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With the exciting announcement of the release of licensing for The Cher Show for community theatre performance, and that Bob Mackie's own stunning designs are open for recreation, it was a no-brainer for the Creative Team at Molly Limpet's Ltd to decide to proceed with offering a wardrobe for hire (UK).
Telling the amazing story of Cherilyn Sarkisian - Cher - three actors portray Cher through the '50s and '60s (Babe); '70s (Lady); and '80s and '90s (Star), all the while wearing the iconic costumes that have become almost as famous as the Lady Herself.
As always, even when 'recreating' a known show, Molly Limpet's will always bring in their own design elements. The challenge is always - "How do we do this for a community theatre's budget?" - and we always do it. Some of the feathers Cher has worn over the years are from birds that have since become extinct. Beadwork is a highly skilled artform, not afforded by most companies. We have all the designs and illusions to make this work for you -and still look breathtaking.
We also have an excellent stock of Mackie-inspired featherwork already in our collection, from which to build a base.
